GALA: GALA is the largest international representative body for the translation and interpreting industry. It was created in 2002 by 15 companies from 12 countries on 4 continents. Its creation reflects the
internationalization and, at the same time,
globalization of the industry, allowing the group to progress through teamwork and cooperation among its members.This association provides its members with a common forum for discussing a range of questions and finding innovative solutions, promoting the industry and presenting its most efficient face to the wider world.
ATA – The American Translation Association The American Translation Association (ATA) was founded in 1959 and is the longest-standing association of translators and interpreters in the United States. With more than 11,000 members, the main goal of the
ATA is to serve as a
platform for support and professional development for translators and interpreters while promoting the profession by organizing conferences, seminars and industry events.
ALC - The Association of Language Companies The Association of Language Companies (ALC) is a body that represents the most important companies providing translation, interpreting, localization and training services. The association was founded by a dynamic group of entrepreneurs with the aim of providing its members with
the information and tools necessary to reach the highest quality standards in the translation, interpreting, localization and training sector. The
ALC now includes the most important global companies in the multilingual sector.
AIPPI The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, generally known by the acronym
AIPPI, is a private non-profit international organization. Its goal is to protect Intellectual and Industrial Property both nationally and internationally. This goal has remained essentially unchanged for the first 100 years of AIPPI's existence.
TAUS The Translation Automation User Society (TAUS) is a resource center for the global language and translation industries with the mission of increasing the size and significance of the translation industry to help the world communicate better. TAUS envisions translation as a standard feature, a utility similar to the Internet, electricity and water. Translation available in all languages to all people in the world will push the evolution of human civilization, achieving a much higher level of understanding, education and discovery.
ASPROSET ASPROSET are the Spanish initials for Asociación Sectorial de Proveedores de Servicios de Traducción (Industry Association for Translation Service Providers), a non-profit founded in June, 2013. This association brings together like-minded legally incorporated organizations mainly dedicated to translation, interpreting, localization and internationalization within the language industry. These organizations must have a UNE-EN ISO 17100 certification (or any certification replacing it in the future) and comply with the ISO 9001 standard or equivalent, or else have applied for the implementation of these standards. They must also have a professional civil liability insurance policy. ASPROSET's goal is to be a hub for sharing opinions and initiatives among translation companies and within the broader language industry to identify synergies and joint activities that strengthen us both as individual companies and as a whole.
